The floor, not a stock photo of one
Every image on this page was taken on the Kolkata floor our goods are made on, photographed as it is. We would rather you see the real thing and ask hard questions than see a rendering and find out later.

Cut, stitched and inspected in Kolkata
Kolkata, because that is where the skill is
Kolkata accounts for roughly 60% of India's leather goods exports — bags, purses and wallets. The Calcutta Leather Complex at Bantala holds 224 tanneries, and the surrounding districts of Kasba, Topsia and Tangra hold the goods manufacturers. The cluster has been doing this since the 1920s.
That matters for a practical reason: pattern makers, edge painters and machine operators with fifteen years on the same operation are hireable here. They are not, in most places.
How an order actually runs
- Tech pack or reference sample in. We come back with a costing, a materials list and a sampling date — normally within a working week.
- Sampling, 18–21 days. You get a physical sample. Comments come back, we revise, and the second sample becomes the sealed sample.
- Bulk cut authorised only against the sealed sample. Nothing goes into production on a drawing alone.
- Production, 75–80 days. Capacity is 10,000+ units per month, so a 100-piece order is not competing with a 20,000-piece one for floor time.
- 100% pre-shipment inspection. Every unit, not an AQL sample. Third-party inspection by SGS, Bureau Veritas or QIMA on request and at your cost.

Quality control
QC is in-house and it is documented. Each batch carries a reference that ties back to the leather lot, the sealed sample and the operator group, so if something is wrong in the field we can tell you where it came from rather than guessing.
Pre-shipment inspection covers every unit against a checklist agreed with you before the cut: dimensions to the sealed sample, stitch density and skipped stitches, edge paint coverage, hardware function cycled by hand, lining seams, symmetry, and colour against the approved swatch under a controlled light source.
Compliance
Revati Craft is an IEC-registered exporter, a unit of SSS Global Apex, Kolkata. Leather comes through an LWG-rated supply chain, materials are REACH-tested with third-party reports per shipment, and EUDR origin data is captured per order where your programme needs it.
